Draft legal information

Safeguarding

This draft safeguarding statement outlines the principles SnowRise follows as a small home childcare setting. It should be reviewed against current local authority and regulator guidance before publication.

Last updated: 25 April 2026

Our commitment

SnowRise Nursery Ltd is committed to providing a safe, warm and attentive home childcare environment where children are protected from harm and treated with respect.

Safeguarding is central to our childminder practice and applies to all childcare arrangements, including any after-school, drop-off or additional services we agree to provide.

Safer practice

We aim to follow safer recruitment, DBS, training, supervision, record-keeping and risk assessment practices appropriate for a home childcare setting.

We keep clear boundaries with families, use age-appropriate care routines, and review the home environment so children can play, rest and learn safely.

Concerns about a child

If we are worried that a child may be at risk of harm, we will act promptly, record relevant information, and contact the appropriate safeguarding services or emergency services where necessary.

We may need to share information without parental consent if doing so is necessary to protect a child or meet a legal safeguarding duty.

Working with families

Parents and guardians should tell us about medical needs, allergies, additional needs, collection permissions, court orders or any situation that could affect a child’s safety or wellbeing.

We encourage families to raise concerns early so they can be handled calmly, fairly and in the best interests of the child.

Contact

Safeguarding questions or concerns can be raised with SnowRise at info@snowrisechildcare.com. If a child is in immediate danger, call emergency services first.
